What to do in Amalfi

The Residence Hotel Amalfi is the perfect solution for anyone who wants to enjoy a relaxing holiday by the sea on the Amalfi coast and have the possibility to explore the surrounding area. The hotel, which is situated on the waterfront, is close to the centre and all the main tourist attractions which can be easily reached via a short walk. The Cathedral of St. Andrew the Apostle with its neo-Moorish façade; the enchanting Cloisters of Paradise; the historical Paper Museum which was built on the ruins of the town’s paper mill; the Valley of the Mills; an oasis of calm along the banks of the river Canneto; the Arsenal of the Republic which offers visitors the chance to immerse themselves in the history of one of the four Maritime Republics – these are just some of the things to do and see in Amalfi which make for a unique visit for all those who find themselves in the region known as the “Pearl of the Coast.” This is a city which thrives on its culture and its folklore and which celebrates its history every year with the story of its Patron Saint, St. Andrew, on the 27th June:  this marvellous event which fills the cathedral square with life and festive rhythms is not to be missed.    From Amalfi you can easily reach other famous places along the coast:  Capri is about an hour’s journey by boat whilst Atrani and Ravello can be reached via a pedestrian route.
